Margaret Nugent born November 3, 1816 in Roark's Cove, Franklin County Tennessee was the daughter of John Nugent and Elizabeth Neighbors, both from South Carolina. She married Miles Taylor, also from South Carolina, in Franklin County on August 19, 1838 by James S. Cawley, J.P.. They moved from Franklin County just accross the state line to the Scotsboro area in Jackson County Alabama around 1844 with their children Rebeccah and William. There they had four more children for a total of six children. Margaret spent the rest of her life there. She died April 27, 1876 in Jackson County a few weeks before the final judgement of the John Nugent estate.
